High heart rate, normal blood pressure after Thyroid surgery

Had my thyroid gland removed three weeks ago and after that I had a short breath due to edemas in my throat. Even after three weeks I still have difficulty breathing and that has caused me fast heart rate. My heart rate has bee between 85-100 and it's very hard to sleep.This has been going on for more three days. My Dr. put me on medicine again for two and half days and said that high heart rate is caused by the breathing problem. Any advice, knowledge, is there any danger for the heart?
Is there anything I can to help myself without rushing to the doc?

My Doc knows about it and says it's a big deal. I can go on for weeks with no heart problem. BTW, I am doing better now after a new medication he put me the last week.
I have lost my voice after the surgery due to a damage of my voice nerve on the left side. The doc doesn't know is the damage is permanent or just for a short time. He say we should wait at least 6 months to find out. Anybody here has gone the same problem or knows any one who has. What is the long term outcome?
Any hope for recovery in a natural or medical way...unless a miracle takes place?
