Hi, I had posted on this forum about the Heart Attack I had during a cardiac ablation. I would really appreciate any information on my heart stents that were placed in my LAD to save my life during the ablation.
Not long after I had the stents placed I have experienced sores all over my scalp that itch and burn,I had the stents placed May 24th of this year and still have the sores. I have seen my family Doctor she has no idea to why I have this problem. I have seen my Cardio Dr. he thought it may be an allergic reaction to my meds I was on Plavix he took me off of that and put me on Effient, that didn't help.
I asked him if I could be allergic to the metals in my stents? He said no way.He and I went back and fourth from June to Sept.
By the way I do not wear any jewelry because it irritates my skin, earrings make my earlobes swell and they become very sore.
I did tell the Doctor this ,he said there's no way I can be allergic to the stents. Finally I contacted Abbott the maker of my stents and wanted if this could be possibly an allergic reactions to the metals?
The woman from Abbott said she would send my doctor a kit on how to perform the metals allergy test. I was then sent by my family Dr. to a dermatologist so he could evaluate my scalp and do the metals test, he had no idea what the sores on my scalp were, I explained to him I needed to have this metals test done. He replied see an allergist ,I did call one to see if I could set up an appointment to be tested for metals , I have the kit everything is in the kit on how to do the test.....they told me the could not do the test. Cardiologist said he won't be able to do it. I am at a loss on what to do all I know is I have many sores on my scalp and I can't take it the pain and itching is constant.
The stents I have is the Xience . my cardiologist said it can't be the stents or the coating on it ,he said the drug coating is gone off the stent within 3 months , I asked the woman from Abbott if that was true? She said No the drug is on the stent for a year like a slow release. The woman from abbott cannot believe the doctors don't know how to preform this test, all of the instructions are included.
I switched cardiologists but still have not gotten any answers.
Would greatly appreciate any information if anyone has had this problem themselves, or know of anyone who has.
Thank you
