I'm 13, 110lbs, 5'3, female. Sometimes when I take a breath, I feel a sharp pain in my left chest. My mom says it's angina, and that she has it too, but I'm not sure because I'm healthy and I'm 13. What is this?

Angina is a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. Angina (an-JI-nuh or AN-juh-nuh) is a symptom of coronary artery disease. Angina is typically described as squeezing, pressure, heaviness, tightness or pain in your chest. Many people with angina say it feels like someone is standing on their chest.
i really don't think your pain is angina. you are too young. it can be muskuloskeletal if you have been exercising or something called costochondritis that is an inflammation between your sternum and ribs joints. ask her if you can go to the doctor. i'm sure it's nothing serious.
hugs.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. Hazel advised you well. I would kindly suggest you ask your Mom to take you to see your Dr. If she feels you have a heart condition.
