It's my first time, I was recently diagnosed with diabetes but I have noticed recently that I have a dull ache in my chest that comes and goes (not often and not very noticeable/annoying). We did a EKG/ECG and Stress test, the Dr. said the EKG looked ok but when the results/pictures came back from the other part of the stress test that it showed abnormalities.
I know heart problems can arise from diabetes (among other problems) and I have to admit I'm feeling anxious and scared. I'm being overwhelmed with a lot of new info., drugs and it's been somewhat of a whirlwind. Thank GOD for the heath insurance I have (even if it is somewhat lame). I wouldn't be able to afford most of the meds I've been prescribed.
I've had Asthma most of my life and have had some rough times but now have to add diabetes and possible cardio problems. To top it off I have caught a terrible cold/flu from visiting the clinic/hospital so much lately.
Sorry for the whine session, back on track now.
What can I expect from seeing a Cardiologist? Does a referral to one always mean something is very wrong?
Thank You for any opinions and discussion on the matter.
Edit: My Dr. put me on these meds, I had a bad reaction to Liptor.
Daily...
Pravastatin 40mg
Isosorb 30mg
Metaprolol 50mg
