Hi all,Have read many of your threads and feel in similar company.Long term Reiters Syndrome carrying HLAB27.Possible cause sandfly bites causing ulceration, uveitis, ankylosing spondylitis at age 19. At age 43 had AVR replacement with porcine valve. In AF and on Warfarin which defeated the purpose of the pig skin valve.
fitted with pacemaker 2004.Currently on Atenolol 25mg daily. A recent echo showed my ascending aorta at 4.6 and will follow up with CT scan this week.My pigskin valve is now 12 years old but apparently well seated and functioning normally. My concern is that if I require repairs on AC would they replace my AV at the same time as it is ageing although well. Have an Appointment with Thoracic Surgeon Feb 11 as i live in a remote area of Australia with only a GP.Your opinions and experience would be appreciated as i am struggling a bit with this one. Forgot to mention that i am a 55year male.
Thanks and all the best Penno.
