I had single bypass surgery about a month ago. Had a 95% blockage of the LAD. I'm in my early 50s and for the better part of the last 15 years have been very good about selecting a nutritious diet. So this was kind of a shocker for me. I workout regularly and take very good care of myself. Obviously I'm taking that "former good diet" to the next level since the surgery and now I'm more Nutritiarian about what I eat and go with mostly fruit, vegetables, grains and very little meat weekly.
My question however has to do with a strange beat I feel in my chest which is more pronounced since the surgery. When I'm sitting up or standing up and I'm fairly still and not moving, about every 10 minutes I'll feel what I can equate to a pause in the heart and then a more pronounced heart beat or thump.
In about 2007 I saw a cardiologist for this and he said it was a premature closing of a valve and millions of Americans have it and it's not dangerous. I don't recall the exact medical condition but he wasn't worried about it.
Since the surgery however it is more pronounced. Does anyone else have this? All I need to do is sit fairly still for 5-10 minutes and I'll feel it just as I described. It's usually just the one time and then I'll feel it again 5 or 10 minutes later if I'm not moving around. I don't think I ever feel it while lying down which is strange. Only when I'm sitting or standing.
