Hi Kathy! :)
Finally had a chance to read this one and it was a good
one!
I was on an ace inhibitor and calcium blocker (beta blockers can cause problems with someone who has asthma - me). They took me off of both of those, as my normally low BP was really sinking. Though, the Digoxin seemed to be helping to keep me compensated. Recently, as many know, my heart started to go back into both right and left sided heart failure once again, just the tip of the iceberg though - this time I continued with the Digoxin, but they had to add Lasix only prn as that, too can cause low BP. Now I'm on Coreg 'the wonder drug' for heart failure and after one week, I am definitely noticing some results - no asthma, but I'm on a low dose for now! Still causes some tiredness, but I'm starting to feel some strength returning! The swelling is gone for the most part - I'm sure that's helping as well.
So there are plenty of medications out there for heart failure patients, as you all can see - if only more Dr.'s would utilize them!
Thanks again for the article, Kathy! I hope you are doing okay? Is the coreg helping you at all yet?
