Trouble breathing when laying down sometimes

I recently made a post here about my problems, but this is the symptom that I am most worried about, so I wanted to make a post that focused on it.

When it comes to heart disease I understand that difficultly breathing can happen while laying down. Is this something that would be consistent? Or would you be fine some nights, and have the symptom on others? And is it a gasping kind of feeling or does it feel like no matter how calmly and deep you breath you can't seem to get enough air in your lungs? I've noticed that I almost never have the breathing problem when waking up, however. No matter how flat my body is on the bed.

This breathing problem has started going away more and more over the last few days with the odd "attack" here and there, but the dizziness/vertigo I've also had has been sticking around. It's become difficult for me to drive. Though this may be because of poor sleep habits from the breathing problem. I've also had vertigo for years for unknown reasons, but it used to only effect my night driving.

Other than that, heart rate/blood pressure has been mostly normal. Maybe a palpitation here and there, usually when I take a deep breath. I think my energy level has been about the same, but it's hard to say because I don't do much most days. Had some mysterious bloating about 2 weeks ago, but it went away and took a few pounds with it.

Is any of this in line with typical heart diseases? There's a chance all of my symptoms are anxiety based, but I wanted answers from a heart POV.

time for the doc. i have very severe obstructive sleep apnea. it can make you feel tired when you get up and when you get out and about. i reckon a sleep study is the go. everything is checked and monitored. do you snore? maybe a mouth device, or cpap. asthma? see doc. let us know how it goes. take care. i use a cpap, it helps.

the ER is the go. do not drive yourself. get someone to take you. take care. let us know how you go. anxiety can do a lot of stuff to us. i see you posted on the anxiety forum. still, i would get checked out.

good move. see what they say. it's breathing, thus i'd think that your chest would be listened to. maybe check your output. peak flow. plastic tube, blow in real hard and it gives a reading. probably a blood pressure check. i am a diabetic, needles are no problem. blood test, hmmmm not sure. might do oxygen sats? it's a walk in clinic. would not expect too much. the trick with needles, don't look. my veins are stuffed, so i have to help out!!! when it is my time, for bloods in the hospital or clinic, i say, bring on the vampires!!! take care. let us know. no use getting worked up. just be straight up with the doc.

Well I just got back from the walk in clinic where I got x-rays and the doctor says she thinks I have asthma and that my issues are lung related. I have a prescription which I'll get tomorrow, but I'm confused to say the least. Guess I'll see if it helps and if not I'll go back and ask for an EKG.
