i had 2 stents put in 8 weeks ago, and since then have been on a high protein low fat high fiber low carb diet, with a little bit of cheating. Prior to the stents, my total cholesterol was 136 (no meds) with LDL at 75, and Triglycerides at 148. I have a long history though of High Triglycerides, which i only got under control in the last 3 or 4 years
I just got my first bloodwork back, since stents were put in and i started the diet change as well as 10 mg daily Crestor
Total Cholesterol - 97
LDL Cholesterol - 34 (yes, 34)
HDL - 34 (UP From 31 but still too low.
Triglycerides 147
The only other thing of note was my RDW (Red Cell Distribution) was high at 16.5 (normal 15)
Is there any problem with total cholesterol being so low? Anything else i need to worry about?
Seeing doc on Friday
