Had a Holter Monitor, got results last night. dr says it was fine. I had 78 extra beats in 24 hours. Said they were PVCs. Said its nothing to worry about.

Any comments? Any thoughts?

I suffer from PVCs also, I was also told they were benign. I'm not too sure my results.

Some people get them due to low magnesium, etc.
Maybe see if your doctor can run some blood work to check for deficiencies? IF you're worried at all about them!

If not, try to ignore them.
Everyone has them, some people can unfortunately feel them, like us...

I know, it's easier said than done!
Mine terrify me!

I read this morning, that generally, the heart beats on average 100,000 times a day. If the PVCs are 20,000 or higher, it presents high risk of developing Tachychardia, where the heart starts to beat out of control at very high rates at times.
So I'M GUESSING 78 PVCs in 24 hours is probably not much to worry about, as my dr said.

I definitely wouldn't worry! At one point I was getting 4 a minute or so.

Pratoman's post is spot on. Normally they are no problem. I would ask the Cardiologist their best advice to at least diminish them. At one point half of my heart beats were PVC's. I lost a lot of weight they were dramatically reduced however I gained some weight back, I had a VT, which caused scaring on my heart and now I have a ICD.

I can't tell you if the PVC's caused the VT but it's worth taking seriously.

I was diagnosed as having PVCs many years ago and my doctor also said they were benign and nothing to worry about. As many tests as I've had and doctors over the years tell me the same thing, I'm finally to the point that I don't let them bother me anymore. They come and go and yes they're annoying, but nothing to be afraid of.
