Question about mild LV dysfunction

Hello

Aged 41, Had MI at the age of 38. Have a doubt. Last year's echo report showed EF as 58 & this year it is 51. LV function too good as per last year's report. This year it shows Mild LV dysfunction. Cardiologist said everything perfect.LV remark a bit of concern. Latest Echo report added below.

Normal cardiac chambers & dimensions. Mid, distal septal, apical scarring & hypokinesia. Mild LV systolic dysfunction. Valves normal, Septae intact. No clots, pericardial effusion, vegetation or pulmonary hypertension.

Would be much appreciated if any could clear me about Mild LV dysfunction.

Hello San & welcome to Healing Well. Did you get the report after your visit with the dr? If so your best bet is make an appt with the cardiologist & go in with your report in hand & ask him to explain this to you. If you are not happy with the current cardiologist you can always get a second opinion with another cardiologist & have him explain things to you.

Keep in mind none of us are drs here so we can't give out medical opinions. I am guessing since the report says mild this is why the dr was not concerned with anything. One thing I will tell you. I have been under the care of a cardiologist since I was 28 yrs old & I am now 63. This is one dr you need to like & trust.
