I had one done in June for SVT --
The EP tries to determine what area is causing the electrical malfunction in your heart. In my case, they inserted catheters through my groin area and they were able to successfully burn the areas that were causing my problems. As terrible as it sounds, it's a relatively simple procedure and has a high success rate. It was done for me on an outpatient basis and I went home the same day. I haven't had any problems since.
I hope this helps,
Sharon
