Recent dx of CHF & CAD

I am newly diagnosed with CHF & CAD , my EF is 10%.. I was told I have 5 yrs left to live if I'm lucky .... Is this a death sentence or is my cardiologist just trying to scare me ???? Is this beatable, can my condition improve ????? I have too many kids to die ... How do I tell them ???

Hello & welcome to Healing Well. Keep in mind I am not a dr, but if this were me & I would be gathering up my copies of my medical records & finding myself another cardiologist for a 2nd opinion. Even a 3rd opinion would be even better. This statement the dr has made just does not sound right.

Before telling your children anything please, please get another opinion. Let us know what you find out.

How is it possible for a Ejection Fraction of 10% in the Heart, i completely confused by this and i am no Doctor i am just a regular working Man, it seems 10% E.F of Heart you would feel absolutely Fatigued and light headed all the time.
