So I've been having chest pains and weird sensations lately...
Like, some kind of tightness on the left side, heaviness... hard to describe.
In the end I went to do a 24 hour Holter ECG...
And here's what it returned among other things.
-5 SA-blocks, 2nd degree type 2
-1 VA-block, type 1
Both were transistent - meaning they come and go. Yet both sound threatening enough as is. And then...
-Increased QT-interval - up to 482 ms
Although cardiologist said everything is fine and only wondered if I fainted at the episodes of blocks, of course I wasn't satisfied yet and went to Dr. Google... and what do I find?
Somebody said...
Sometimes, prolonged QT intervals in people with long QT syndrome never cause problems. However, physical or emotional stress might "trip up" a heart susceptible to prolonged QT intervals. This can cause the heart's rhythm to spin out of control, triggering life-threatening, irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
I couldn't be more scared now
I don't want it! Tell me, are these conditions really that life-threatening?
What can I do about
it?
