Coronary Bypass Graft and Aortic Valve replacement-Ongoing issues.

I had a x 3 coronary bypass graft in late January 2015, and when the Surgeon was doing my surgery, he noticed that my aortic valve was also leaking, so he replaced the valve with a bio prosthetic 21mm St Jude Prosthesis valve. During my recovery, I was sent a letter in error which was meant just for my Dr, informing the Dr that my bio prosthetic valve was a patient prosthesis mismatch. Ever since my surgery, I've endured ongoing facial flushing, high blood pressure episodes which leads to headaches and shivering. My Cardiologist has given me several blood pressure monitor tests and also sent me for a MRI scan, to check if I had an Adrenal tumour, which came back negative. These high blood pressure episodes come out of nowhere. I seem to going back and forth to my GP who doesn't understand the complexities of heart conditions. I also have Discoid Lupus.
Ever since my surgery, I have become very anxious and fearful, with low moods. Has anyone had surgery like myself and experienced symptoms similar. I would be very grateful of any responses on this matter.

Seamus, I absolutely agree with everything HT posted above. The low you speak is common, some people have their personalities change completely. Sometimes it is temporary or permanent. There was a recent post here not long ago from a member. Her husband had surgery 4 years ago & he had a dramatic change in his personality. She came back & posted it took 4 years for her husband to get back to his old self.

You need to know about this letter that you got by accident too. I think seeking a 2nd opinion not affiliated with the cardiologist you currently see should be considered. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes is needed.
