syncope and bradycardia

My son is 21 now and was born with VSD which caused other heart conditions.  In last few years he has experienced what DR calls vasovagal syncope.  Just wondered if anyone here has experienced this.  We're not so sure that the syncope or fainting is related to vaso vagus nerve, because none of the symptoms before it happens relate to any typical vaso vagal syncope episodes.  Worried about ventricular bradycardia being the cause of syncope, which can result in sudden death.  Is anyone familiar with vaso vagal syncope?After his surgery in 1992, they were worried about the rhythm because they disturbed the AV node.  Difficult to detect arythmias if it doesn't happen during monitoring.

Hi strippedgears,  I am so sorry about your son!  I was also born with a VSD but it was not diagnosed until this past august.  I am a 32 yr old female.  I have bradycardia that was also dx'd in 8/05.  My heart rate was in the 20-30 range so I ended up with a pacemaker.  I also have syncope due to low blood pressure.  This is a result of what they are diagnosing as Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) a Parkinson's type disease that is fatal.  I wonder if you have received a second opinion from a cardiologist?
