New to this forum I am a great granny of 5. I have CAD PAD Anterior septal and inferior infrac. The anterior I had at age 25 now I am in my 70's. I am also DM type 2 for at least 20 yrs. still on metformin not injections. I have had a Lunear stroke that just popped up I think I misspelled it. I have a rare type of cancer called ET . too many platlets and low red blood cells. My mitral valve has been regurgating for years. Would I be accepted for a possible bypass with this type of cancer. I feel good most of the time tire easily and get some back pain mostly upper left. laying down gets rid of it . I do babysit my 1 yr old and 5 year old grandchildren about 4 times a month. Should I ask my doctor for nitro glycerin because sometimes I get dizzy and feel like my breathing is stopping my chest feel full. My husband is always with me so if I pass out he can call for help. I never recognized the 2 heart attacks or the stroke I also have meniers which makes me dizzy and weak. Please give me some advice on what to ask my doctor.

Hi greatgranny, I suggest that you get in for a consult with your cardiologist. Make a list of your current symptoms & include your medical history. The dr may want to do a complete workup if it's been awhile with testing. Depending on the results of the testing will dictate the need for any surgery. Nitro is prescribed for angina & the cardiologist should ask you if you are experienceing this.
