Leaking Aortic Valve symptoms

Anyone have a leaking aortic valve or had in the past? My husband has one due to a bicuspid valve. Has had it monitored for about 13 years. Been told it was moderate to severe. This week actually had to go to ER chest pain was so bad he thought he was having a heart attack. Symptoms have never been this bad. Everything checked out OK at ER. No heart attack. Sees a cardiologist Monday. It was about 3 days of very difficult symptoms. Seem to be classic symptoms of the valve leaking. Today he is feeling much better! This is my question: Can the symptoms be bad and then get better? And go back and forth with bad then better, etc? Or is it more like they get bad and stay bad? Then surgery.

Maybe the case...
Just a bit of a leak. Our parts go wonky every now and then. Maybe time for a repair job. Discuss with cardiologist.
No heart attack...doung better all exvellent signs.

Thank you. I am looking forward to hearing what the cardiologist says. I am thankful they will let me go in with him. More ears to hear. (-:

Hi Bellski, yes I have a leaky aortic heart valve. Mine was diagnosed in my late 20's, due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. I have gone from mild to moderate in almost 40 years, I have yearly check ups. I take 3 different blood pressure meds & the key is to keep the blood pressure under control to avoid surgery. I did have a mild heart attack 7 years ago, no damage thank goodness. One of my meds helps with angina, this has been a great help for me.

Thanks. I’m assuming he will schedule some tests. Praying for the doctor to have wisdom and insight to his specific case. Glad you’re doing OK for now.
