Hi scutterdo, this forum is very slow. Here is what I do when looking for a specialist. Here is something to try, do an internet search for the top 10 cardio/vascular surgeon in whatever city you are looking at. Go through each one, read about the dr & look at the hospitals the dr is associated with. You can find some decent information with healthgrades & rate mds by doing it this way. Reviews can be sketchy, however, when you see a couple of years to current date of good reviews that means something. You can also check out a dr online to see if he/she has had any infractions against them. While this may sound like a lot of work, it really isn't. When my husband was referred to a neurosurgeon last year I did this & everything I read about him online proved to be true. My husband did great after surgery & he is 76 years old.
Good luck & take care.
