Can a colon cleanse help with GERD/IBS?

The only thing a colon cleanse can help is the "practitioner's" bank account. It's pure voodoo science.

It's interesting that you say that it's "voodoo science," because my GI doctor calls taking probiotics "voodoo," although he DOES think that people should take them...I have a feeling that he also wouldn't be for colon cleansing, though...

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and on this one I agree with Judilyn as I have read extensively on the colon cleansings and they come with high buck price plus you really "should buy" all the products to get the best results.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Well, my doctors obviously aren't into it themselves, they would have told me to get one a long time ago, had they thought that I needed one..

Is a colon cleanse when you take supplements, or is it colonics?

As far as asking people to buy the products, that is true for ALL businesses though...I mean, I'm not saying it's right...But I find that EVEN for products that are good they keep trying to sell and sell...

colon cleanses are not  a load of rubbish they work and they heal heaps of people just do google search,,,,,,,,,,they may not cure your reflux but they may,,,,,,,,,,,in the end the more waste and junk you have out of your body the less toxic you are the better you digestive system works,,,,,,,,,,,,,what have you got to loose,,,,,,,,,,its not that expensive...

i'm confused about whether they are pills, or whether or not they are actually colonics that you guys are referring to...

A colon cleanses are a combination of diet changes and pills and colonics is sterile water or whatnot inserted into the rectal area by a wandish type thing and swished around like an enema. So I believe it is the pills that you have to buy and take to clean out the colon that may be a rip off.

On the morning news, one of the health anchors had a colonic and according to her and some of the other people she interviewed; colonics made them feel more invigorated and have more energy. I heard though that anyone with gut issues shouldn't mess with them. I honestly don't know how it can help with GERD though - I guess I don't see a connection.
