I went to the gastro the other day and completely forgot to ask him about this. I find sometimes after a meal that I make like a hiccup/gasp type noise. It doesn't happen directly after a meal, maybe 30 mins to an hour later. I know it isn't a hiccup because I don't feel it in my diaphragm, more in my throat, but it makes like a hiccup sound. I hope this makes sense, because even as I type it I'm like, huh??

I think I have had that. Is it like an odd little burp sensation? Like a flip in the wall of your chest? Like an internal burp?

I know there are others in the forum that have talked about this same feeling too.  You are not alone.

Exactly marthamae!! And I make like a burp/hiccup sound, it's so weird. Has anyone out there who has experienced this asked what it could be?

LOL, I never thought to think anything of that, but I have the exact thing. I've always done it, I do remember it from my teenage years long before I ever had heartburn, so I'm not sure it's related. But it's exactly like you put it: a hiccup/burp that seems interrupted because you're gasping in.
