Hi, everyone. Long-time reader, first time poster :)
I want to start by thanking all the people who shared their Nissen Fundo experiences on this board. I had the surgery done six weeks ago, and the first month of recovery was definitely harder than I expected, but reading the board really encouraged me and let me know that I'd eventually get through it, which I have--thank God.
As of two weeks ago, I can pretty much eat anything that's not too spicy, as long as I chew many times and don't eat too fast or too much (pizza, roast beef, lasagna, fried shrimp, sweet and sour pork... I've never appreciated food more). With the increase in food intake, my energy level has gone back to normal, and I'm now working out and playing tennis like I did before.
So now that the main issues seem to be well-resolved, I have a question about a minor matter: the scars. Right now, I have five dark, purplish spots (two of them longer than the others, more like small lines than spots) on my stomach. I'm wondering if I can expect them to grow fainter and less noticeable with time (hoping, hoping). And if so, how long it takes for most people. I'm curious what the other Nisson-ers' experiences and feelings towards the scars are like.
Again, I want to thank the other posters for sharing experiences, and if anyone has any questions about my personal experience with the surgery, feel free to ask. God bless.
