7 days post op

Everyone is different, but most people were surprised at how long they did need their pain meds. I had some exceptional pain and was on a fentanyl patch for a week; after that I was on something (can't remember now what it was and don't want to go look!) with liquid motrin for awhile. Finally I was on the motrin for a good long time after that point. I'm thinking maybe 4 weeks total?? Others were off meds really fast, most were not.

You're okay; you're paying attention to your intake and the doctors should be okay with you asking for more.

I remember using mine for about 3 days pretty consistently...then caved in a couple more times in the following days.  I had no need for them 7 days post-op, but I know other people's recovery didn't go as well as mine.  I would have called the surgeon if I felt I needed them...don't feel bad about it.
