Lump in Throat Feeling

Hey Everyone!

This morning I woke up with a lump, squeezing sensation in my throat when I swallow. It just feels like something is squeezing inside my throat. I've tried taking some Maalox along with my Prilosec, but it's not helping.

Are there any remedies for this and is it from GERD?

i recently had that too, i recommend you go to the ER & get it checked...

I have seen posts by other members re this very same issue.  Try our search site to see if anything comes up in old threads that may be helpful for you and yes, please do check with your physician.

Hi Overactor, I have been to the E.R. quite a few times in the past few months, with my Lyme Disease getting worse and other issues, so I am trying to stay as far away from there as possible. I don't find them to be very helpful, they just say "follow up with such and such doctor".

Hi Kitt, I will do a search and see what I find. It's not so bad today, but my GERD or whatever it is has been really acting up the past few weeks. It's kind of scary.

Hello.  I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux/Hiatal hernia/IBS years ago.  I have suffered off and on.  Have been put on numerous meds to try and help me.  Just recently like a month ago, I started having this lump feeling in my esphagus and my food gets stuck there.  The Doctor put me on today, carafate to see if this will help.  I am having a Endosocopy and colonoscopy this Friday JAN.9TH.  I am terrified.  I just hope its nothing really bad.  The last tests back in 2005, they suspected Barrett's but after the pathology tests were done, it came back no!  But now things feel worse than then so I am very worried.
