Has anyone ever taken Levsin for esophogeal spasms? Carol

I had esophageal spasms and I fixed it by stopping my throat from getting burnt by acid.

Have you tried elevating your bed by a few inches so your head is elevated?

Levsin is an anticholinergic agent and is used for many reasons. I do not know if it would be useful with esophogeal spasms.

Good question for your physician.

Carol my doc said it helps to slow down and calm down the "digestive muscles" so I would think so. I know I get much fewer attacks now that I am on it. I also notice that my GERD is worse now that I'm on it and am having to take more acid blockers but all in all it has been very helpful.
