Hello, i'm new to the forum. I've had a burning pain in my throat for years and most of the time the pain progresses to by head as well. I went to many doctors, had MRI and EGG scans but hey couldn't find anything wrong . And because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me they gave me many pills but none of them helped and some made it worse (resulting to stupor and not being able to walk normally, shuffling my feet like a zombie). I'm happy that I found this forum because I had given up on finding the cause for this awful pain, contributing it to stress, dry air, dehydratation, environmental factors and so on.
I know I have to go to doctor asap but as the family doctors are having a strike these days so I decided in the meantime to ask here - if there's no heartburn symptom (and acidic burps or breath) but still burning pain in the throat could it be GERD or pharyngitis/laryngitis? Someone here said that the cause of this may be LPR but the link she/he posted is dead.
Are the medical tests needed for the diagnosis of GERD the same as for EERD, Pharyngitis, Laryngitis?
P.S. I don't know if this is related but my brother also has throat pain but in his case he loses his voice or feels pain when he talks, while in my case talking/not talking is not related to the pain (maybe it's genetic)
