Hi,

I am new to this site and so far have found a lot of great information !    I have been searching for information on Bile Reflux.  I found out last month that I have Bile Reflux.  (I had an Endoscopy).   The problem is there isn't too much info about Bile Reflux.  It mostly talks about Acid Reflux.  Does anyone else here suffer from Bile Reflux ??    I have been trying anything I can.  I have had good results drinking Aloe. 

Has anyone heard about drinking Extra Virgin Olive Oil to "assist your body in removing bile"  ??   I'm wondering if that would help?

Aloe Vera Juice is lovely if you ask me! I do 1/2 oz every day. I go through Market America and get Strawberry Kiwi flavored hehe.

Bile reflux is digestive fluid from liver flows up to the stomach then the esophagus. Most cases it is comes with Acid Reflux, as a wretched combination. Mostly this is from a peptic ulcer or damage to the valve. Sometimes a gastric bypass is done. There are some medications you can take to "ease" the symptoms. Surgery can be an option to. However, with surgery its like a 50/50 shot if they do not know the cause and can not give you better odds. In the mean time, eat smaller meals and treat it as GERD (avoid acidy foods, fatty foods, so on)

That does makes sense, just treat is as you would GERD.  I do find eating smaller meals helps.  The Aloe helps a lot too.

I just read an interesting article about treating acid reflux and bile reflux (which can occur together) with PPI's.  It said that while the PPI's do lessen the acid production, they often actually INCREASE the bile reflux, and the symptoms persist even with PPI treatment.
