Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums here at HealingWell, however, not new to GERD. I have been prone to GERD numerous times over the last 10 years which I have been able to control with Nexium (usually 40mg twice a day for a period of a few months). Now GERD came back after a 2.5 year hiatus (no pun intended) in early November. Although the syptoms have subsided since then they are not completely gone. I just wanted to share some of my syptoms to compare with the other members. Syptoms include the following:

  1. Dry cough
  2. Burning sensation in the middle of the chest
  3. Pain between the shoulder blades
  4. Feeling that something is stuck in throat
  5. Pressure on chest
  6. Feeling that something is dangling from esophagus

Yes these are all sx members with GERD have in common.  Each person is different and may not have all the same sx but yours fall into the GERD Category.

Hello,

I am experiencing "breakthrough" reflux even while on Nexium (2 a day). I get the following symptoms:

Burning throat

Pain in the center of my chest

Anyone experience this while on medication. If so, can you please share your experience (i.e. symptoms) and any tricks to deal with the discomfort.

I'm also taking Nexium the only symptom I'm still dealing with is the pain in the chest, I occasionaly have the burning in the throat but that comes with the occasional burp :-). I dont really have any tricks I usually just take a few deep breaths to calm myself (anxiety) and just let the pain go away on its on.

My symptoms are: esaphagus strictures, Nite time gerd where i regurgitate and sour bitter taste 24 /7. nausea here and there. no heart burn ever however i had costcochondritis and was hospitalized for it.
