Hi ITSJUSTME!
There is a lot of help at this forum. It's very active, (which speaks to the intensity of GERD issues), and very supportive. If you read through others' posts, you'll find some that you can relate to. I thought of a post early in my participation on this site--check the page 6 Acid Girl "The Doctor put Cancer on My Mind" post.
Acidgirl was really panic stricken with her results, and it threw her entire GI tract into panic mode. I know how scary this is. I am an individual who came to the site because of asthma/breathing problems which were a result of reflux.
Right now, your mind/worry is your worst enemy. You need to reboot, calm down, breathe, and think happy thoughts. Acid girl, is now happily going about her business, eating normally, and gaining weight.
If you can think happy thoughts, get busy with enjoyable activities, breathe, relax, stop thinking about your tests and worries, you will feel better. It's very natural for you to panic. It happens to everyone. If you let that panic take over your body, you will feel sicker, and have even more breathing and GI problems.
Breathe, take a walk, read a book, visit friends. Keep busy!
Of course you need to visit the doctors, get tests, and wait for their results, but spending your time worrying yourself crazy won't help anything. It'll just make your wait unbearable.
Be sure to write down all your questions, and ask your GI doc what you're worried about. Keep in mind that doctors today have to cover their butts, and don't tend to reassure patients they way they did in the "old days".
Relax. Being tense, and obsessing on your health will do nothing but make you worse and cause you unnecessary pain.
Best wishes with your doctor visit.
Hang in there! You'll be okay!
Denise
