Sorry for the set back again. I am still praying and soon things will turn around my friend. Go enjoy the long weekend at the cottage. You surely deserve it.

Anne, your gift brought tears to my eyes, thank you for your outpouring of prayer for me, for everyone. Being able to spend time devoted to praise can be so incredibly uplifting and joyful!!

Bill, Anne, Kitt, Denise, Mary, Bea, Joy, graff, rafael, PALady, everyone...my visit last Thursday found some better news; the Dr. is more optimistic, the healing looks better. He withdrew another 150 cc's of saline, kept me on the antibiotic, did not remove the drain and I go back tomorrow. I felt pretty well until yesterday, I'm back to feeling queasy, tired and no appetite again...boy! I wish I could shake this.

The testing lab in CA called me Thursday night; they've received the tissue specimen and they're starting to work on it. The results will take 2 weeks (I hope that's true!) I follow up with the oncologist on the 18th... Tom got me thinking, how do you do chemo with the side effects that you have when you can't really vomit because of the Nissen? I gues we'll cross that bridge when we get to it right??

Our weekend up north was wonderful; beautiful weather, peaceful, relaxing! I'll tell you all about one of the places we found later, but we had a good time and I thought about all of you!..truly! I really did!

As far as the side effects go, I believe they would definitely have to keep you in supply of Zofran or something. Glad you had a few days of feeling better. You have been through a lot and i am sure it will take quite a while for all the nastiness to subside, unfortunately. Hoping tomorrow's appointment goes well. Draino needs to go away!

I haven't posted to you in so long, I feel bad about that! I don't spend a lot of time here (the GERD forum), but I do think about your often.

I just read through this thread and am wishing only the best for you - that those tests come back with low, low numbers!

I'm not completely up on the drainage issue, but I did have a drain when I had my gall bladder out, but that was decades ago (I was 19 - and it took 40 years for me to develop more GI problems!). I also remember for a few years after the surgery about once or twice a year I would vomit bile. And then it stopped. No problems since until this past year.

Another thought - since you enjoyed the massage so much, you might see if there's a massage therapist trained in lymphatic drainage. It takes specialized certification to work with post-mastectomy patients. I know the Cleveland Clinic uses it, so your doctor might even know someone certified. It's a very different feel - a very light feel, just designed to open the cell to drain lymph, but the practitioner has to be skilled in knowing which way to direct the flow. You may not be ready for it at this stage, but you may enjoy it later.

You truly are an inspiration!

Dear Janice,

I am glad to hear you had a wonderful and peaceful weekend.  I think Bill already answered the question of what to do about the side effects from chemo.......Zofran, Zofran and more Zofran really works well.

Anti-emetic therapy will be given before the treatment has started. The anti-emetics should be taken regularly so that the sickness does not have a chance to come back.

I know it feels like the 18th is a long way off but tomorrow is September 8th already.  10 days to go but who is counting.  You have my prayers as always and anything I can do to help you please just ask.

Janice - I have briefly skimmed through this thread to get the just of what is the latest information.

Dear, Dear lady I so sorry and praying for you daily and nightly though I haven't been on the forum I haven't forgotten you and the ordeal your going through. I'm giving you a big squeeze and hoping for the very best. Your a wonderful insperation to me and many others I'm sure. God Bless you Janice!

To everyone else - I give you all hugs and hope your all doing well. I have a lot of issues going on lately and haven't been in a very positive place so I have with drawn a bit from here.

How ever I think of all my great friends that I have made on here all the time.

Everyone, I go back today, we'll see if the drain comes out; the volume has dropped considerably, so keep your fingers crossed..maybe I've crossed over to the positive side of this part of this!!!

Hi everyone, and I seriously mean every one of you! and thank you for all you've done for me!!!

Draino was removed today! First, the Dr. said he couldn't allow it to stay in any longer, 6 weeks is the absolute drop dead date for these things, fortunately, the volume has started to drop off. Secondly, he is more optimistic; it finally looks like I'm healing, although he is still cautious...I have a significant amount of scar tissue and I'm not out of the surgical removal woods just yet. I don't have to go back for a week..Lets keep our fingers crossed!! XXXXX

Fingers and toes are duly crossed! Glad that Draino has taken a hike. I'm sure you two have gotten close, so you'll probably have a few withdrawl symptoms! Hang in there as you heal. We're all with you, praying for the best possible outcome.

Hi everyone. It sure is nice not having that drain! Got a call from my FP this morning, my chest x-ray is clear ( no surprise there); the bone density..not so great (no surprise there either), so now we just wait for next week. In the meantime, I've gone back into an insomnia cycle..I just hate this stuff, 20 years I've been dealing with this *@#. My FP called in some Ambien, but my insurance is balking! I have never had this happen before. mbien works but causes some serious migraines, but I'm getting 2-3 hours a night right now and I have a headache anyway, so I don't care!

Wonderful thing about doing business with a small town pharmacy; they called Tom said, come and pick some up and we'll take care of the paperwork once the insurance stuff comes through...you're not going to get that through mail order! SO!! fingers crossed XXXX again for a good nights sleep!

Work is going down the tubes, it took everything I had to not just scream this morning, quit and walk out, but I have just shy of 29 years in and I can retire in 1 year and 1/2...doesn't sound like much, but when you have the kind of crap I've been getting, it's a lifetime!!!

Anyway, Steelers are ON!!!!!
