Well my little update from the GI world. I saw the Gi's PA today for my Barretts follow up. They where very interested in the fact that the first Nissen was done wrong and I have to get them a copy of the surgery report. She pushed on my left side and about sent me through the roof. Seems she wasn't to impressed with that and wants me to get another CT and some more blood tests. She couldn't believe the other urologist hadn't done another ct with all the abdominal pain I have. She said that if the new urologist I see tomorrow wants a CT done that it will already be scheduled. I have to go for an EGD Thursday and the CT on Monday. She is also curious about the unintentional weight loss and sounded like she was starting to go the colonoscopy route too. Thankfully she didn't. Of course Michelle brought up the shoulder pain also and she didn't even like that part either because it goes down my arm and up my neck. Actually she didn't seem to like much of anything I had to ell her except that I no longer have any swallowing issues. Anyway, that is my little update on today's events. More to come tomorrow after the Urologist appointment.

I would like to know who the heck broke Bill in the first place? 

It does sound like your visit with  the GI yesterday has started to get the ball rolling to get to the bottom of your pain and your issues so I think that is good.

Sorry to hear you have increased pain from exam. Off you go today to see the Urologist and of course you know your cheering squad is here so remember you are never alone.

We are standing right beside you even thow you cannot see us.

Hi Y'all-
All went well with the urologist. He said the IVP xray turned out good. He believes it is just swelling from the 3 procedures and wants to give it a couple more weeks or he said he could put in another stent. I politely declined that option. He agreed that the CT scan is a good idea just in case and wants a copy of the results. Tomorrow I go see my PCP about the shoulder pain and also have my Barretts follow up EGD. What a week of doctor appointments. I am starting to believe this is becoming a full time job just going to appointments.

Glad that you had a good appointment with the urologist. Let's keep that positive stretch going! Hope the CT shows everything in its place and doing fine.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Crunch time is here. School keeps me busy enough, but we've been getting things ready for our house sale. A woman is coming Monday morning to help us price things, and the sale is next weekend. We have to go pick out cabinets, etc. for the townhouse, because they've started building, and they need the information before they can start framing the rooms. On top of that, we're moving our things to an indoor self storage, and the movers are coming on Oct. 1. We're renting a U-Haul and the kids are moving us to our apartment (which we chose--in a nearby town) on Oct. 3. Then it's just the last minute clean-up at our house, and we'll out. Hopefully the closing will be around Oct. 8, as planned. That would be too easy...

Mary, sorry that I haven't responded to your post about school. I promise I will. It's just been too hectic. On top of everything else, Curriculum Night (parent meeting) is Tuesday. YIKES!

Bill, I think I come to this forum in hopes that your take on life and what it throws at you will rub off on me. You are going through some tough times and you still manage to have an awsome attitude.

I had discoloration after my sores cleard up. Hopefully they will conclude that its just your esophogus healing.

Hey Bill, hope you got some sleep. I didn't after the IV steroids. I hated another trip to the ER and more needles. I have had it with that stuff. I thought about you often when i was in the hospital laying there unable to move around at all and feeling down. It would have been a great comfort to talk to you at that time with all you have been through yourself. My hubby had the same problem as you this last week and I had the opposite with the complete diet change and pain pills to plug me up. I did discover I like Okra. It's good breaded or just cooked and seasoned. I also discovered I like honey dew melon in my quest to get some fiber in my diet while in the hospital since they only had white bread.

Rafael, Bill is awesome you can learn alot from him. When your going through something try to look for the good in every situation. There is always a blessing or something to be learned or a way for you to help some one else out. I have found this really helps me out in life no matter what I am going through.  

Joy I could have used those cows. Lol.

Good morning Kitt, Bill and every one else. I love out door weddings. I've only been to a few though. My daughter plans on getting married in her back yard or down by her boyfriends parents in IL if he ever asks her. At this point he is more of a son to us in so many ways that our son is not any more. He was so worried about us that He wanted to come and get us with our daughter. He is so awesome to our daughter and us. Your daughters wedding sounded so pretty. I'm sure my daughters will be too. Well have to go take a treatment and then off to church for much much needed prayer. It is so good to be home other than the rude people in our ER here that is. At least the steroids made me feel better. Hope I'm on the up swing here. Barb

Hi Mary, I'm so glad to be home. Going to church today was such a great comfort to me and my husband. Every thing the minister said spoke to us and we think it will help our son and his wife to hear it too so we bought a CD of the service. It was amazing how there was scripture to back up every thing I have to say to my son and his wife and the sermon also addressed all their issues too. I just sat there with my mouth open in awe. We went up for prayer after and one of our elders advised us to talk to our son's pastor down there so he can keep an eye on the kids and try to give them some council. Man I do not feel well tonight. I woke up from a nap after taking a treatment with a horrible headache and shaky and really hot. I ate something which helped the shaky feeling and nausea from being hungry. Oh well hope the tylenol kicks in soon or will maybe have to pop a vicadin that I take for my back. I just need sleep and lots of it. Take care and have a great night. I'm going to go see if a shower helps. Barb

Bill sounds like your daughter is having a great experience. She must be a great player it is not often a freshman gets to play varsity. Hope you get feeling better. Muscle cramps are no fun, man they may me just cry l;ike a baby. I get them in my legs at night, but knock on wood, I have not had any since the surgery. I wonder if the GERD had anything to do with the leg cramps.
