Hi Everyone,

Had a endoscope and colonoscopy and noticed this on my report.What does this mean AN INTERMITTENT WIDELY PATENT ESOPHAGEAL RINGS WHICH WAS CLOSELY SPACED?

STOMACH-THE BODY WAS A BIT PECULIAR IN TERMS OF IT REVEALING A DIFFUSE NODULAR PATTERN MORE PROMINENT THAN USUAL.ANTRUM REVEALED A STREKY AND BLOTCHY ERYTHEMA.?NON-NEOPLASTIC GASTRICMUCOSA WITH MINIMAL CHRONIC INFLAMMATION.

What is Mild Distal Sigmond Diverticular Disease?Its been about 3 weeks since the procedures and still have abdominal distention.On the note here if this persist he wants to put me on Xifaxan 400mg.x10 days.

What does all this mean?I can't stand the feeling in my stomach SO bloated.

My mother suffers from Diverticular Disease. She just had a colonoscopy today.
She's bloated, too.
Diverticular disease is when you develop pockets in your colon that food gets trapped in and you get infections from it. It's not a fun disease. My mother gets inflamed when she eats the wrong foods. Things that will get trapped: corn, small seeds, berries.

I'm sorry to hear your mom has this also.Does your mom take any medication for it and if so did it work.Well the doctor said that I have pockets in my colon for sure.He said for me to get back in touch in a month if I don't see any changes.I haven't seen any yet so I'm calling him tomorrow for another visit so he can explain the pictures they took also.I think I have 8 pictures and don't know anything about them.The have the distented stomach and belching all the time.Even if I drink waterI belch,my husband looks at me like I'm crazy.

What kind of symptoms does your mom have if you don't mind me asking and has she been hospitalized from it?

**She just watches her diet and takes antibiotics when inflamed.

** they took pictures of my mother's colon. The doctor said everything must be smooth looking and pink to be healthy. He showed her a picture of a very bumpy and pale area and said it was the pockets of diviticular and scar tissue from past infections.

**She gets sharp pains, bloating, fevers, and constipation.

**She's never been hospitalized, but came close one time. The doctor's keep threating surgery.
