I was so sick, I didnt even have the energy to put my laptop on:( I have a cough that does not stop, nor day, nor night...nor morning, nor evening...I think my esophagus is cut...I may schedule an endoscopy as soon as possible...i dont stop coughing really...


Marie, what happened with your wrap dear? did you do the ph-metry test???? did you get any results??? please let us know...i read your threat about the doctors and i am so glad you were able to get over their lack of care for all of us...hey, please let us know what happened with your wrap okay? how are your kids? keep the spirit up Marie, you are just wonderful...your kids are lucky to have a wonderful MOM like you...you are a wonderful examplar!

Rafael, i read your thread about the anti-depressants/anxiety or so....what will you be taking now? I think if it is a nerve or muscle problem, then my theory would be the wrap is too tight and the nerves are not able to transmit the opening well causing painful esophagus spasms...what do you think? Rafael, treptezol is a medicine i recommend, if you want give it a try, and let me know..are you feeling any better regarding the swallowing? when is your endoscopy! Insist to get answers if you can. I wish you the best, my friend, you deserve it.

Jules, I am hoping that we all get fix soon and  that we can go on and enjoy living a haffy life. I am longing for those days and really wishing everyone the same on here.

I am already been back to work - feel so exhausted!

I went to see my dr. and I asked my dr. about my wrap - possibility slip or loose...

He told me that it is very unusual for it to be loose or slip so soon -

but it is possible... He is going to schedule me on barium swallow and see if I am refluxing and see if the wrap is loose...  He say let start from the barium swallow and go from there. If a redo is in place, I think I have to look for a surgeon that know how to do a redo... I heard a redo is more risky...

Thank much for sharing the EGD photo. Your esophagus seem to look pretty healthy - that is great mew, Rafael.

 

I saw on one of your photos- henia - how big is your hernia, Rafael?

I had hernia also - my is 2cm. I also have barret. I don' have any recent EGD, but I think my would be in a very bad stage at this point because everyday, I get reflux left and right - it is so painful.

None-stop reflux! I hope my barret will not progress any further... Knock on wood!

 

Rafael, is your pain in your esophagus very painful at this point?

Do you feel your pain is less as months gone by?

If the pain is managable and not sever - don't have its stretche because it can cause more problem.

I think it will heal and you will feel better. Rafael, I heard fish oil help east up some inflmation stuff like that. Have you try those... You can get fish oil in liquid format instead of those big round tablet thing.

Rafael, do you know if your dr see people like me - 2nd redo - I wonder...

I also wonder if there is any conflict because your dr and my dr work in the same department.

I am thinking to call Dr. K up soon because as of now, my sour/bitter and burn reflux is out of control.

When I swallow my saliva, I feel so funny and weird. My throat seem to make click sound and now it is tight and also I have this gurgle sound down in my throat. When I swallow my saliva, it make some really funky noise.

I don't think I can stand this reflux pain. I think it will get the best of me if I let it go on for a long time.

Aww, well dont feel so bad that I had pizza. I payed for it verry much last nite. Its weird. I dont have any reflux but when I eat "heavy" food my esophagus gets really sore and I get really bad palpitations. It was a looong nite. I dont understand what is going on with me now.

Joy, I hope you get better soon. A cold is bad enough but pneumonia isnt any fun at all!!

Glad to know all of your news...my friends!

First, Marie, please please, if you were my sister, I would not let this progress...im glad you will get the barium swallow test, but hey let them make you drink 2-3 cups of barium. When I drink 1 cup, no reflux shows! when I drink 2-3 cups, reflux shows immediately. Also when they do not shake me up, down up, no reflux shows. When they shake me a lot, the reflux shows.  So nag on them ,  if you can, so they shake you well, and make you drink enough...will U do the ph-metry test? i prefer this one ...I am okay, I am still coughing like SO SO much (I think it is my REFLUX...there is no other explanation)...anyway, dear, I wish you a good recovery. you only deserve good things.

Raphael, tryptizol (as spelled in portuguese, lol) from the brand celexa too is also good, I think. I will check your esophagus links now, I haven't yet. well if we eat alot on a very tight wrap, perhaps the acids of the food stays inside the esophagus causing some burning? I am not sure, trying to think of some explanation to your symptoms Rafael. I am glad he extended it till december. I think more time to heal is necessary in this situation- it seems fragile. I hope you find the answers you need soon.

JOY, welcome back!!! how are you? did you do your esophyx surgery yet? JOY how does the reflux coughing feel like because i dont stop coughing , my lungs hurt too...please , because i cannot tell if i got  a flu or i am coughing like nonstop...which is it that i have?

Hope everyone are doing well.

Am doing a little research and see what can help relief some reflux. Try all kind of remedies- nothing seem to help much. Now, I am looking at a special type of water - for some they refer to it as holy water *Laff* Just kidding - it is the kind of water that filter out high content of acid, etc.

Hey - does anyone familiar with the special type of water product that we drink that have a very special health benefit - very alkaline - ph levell 9.5?

Kangen water or Jupiter water or tyent usa  water?

I read that it help with diabetes, high blood pressure, and heartburn, etc.

Does anyone use any of this product and does it help anyone with reflux, etc.

Hello every one and sorry for not coming back in a while. I misses you guys too!!

As you can imagine I have been feeling better and have been busy chasing my 13 month old around as well as starting to do some minor chores around the house. I still feel that some healing needs to be done and got my disability extended yet again by my FP and my specialist told me that if I needed more time he would give me another month too.

I still get a bit of irritation in my esophagus, not reflux or reflux related, when I eat naturally sour food and don't wash it down well. But all in all I feel at about 80% after my surgery. I have become a big vegetable eater. I have cut out beef 100% from my diet and I eat mostly chicken and fish. I tried to start working out a but but found that I still tire out very quickly and start to get jittery then feel faint. My caloroe intake is about 1500-1800 calories a day, on a good day.

This weekend I actually had the energy to enter a national race that was hosted at a track about 8 minutes from my house. I came in 4th after qualifying in first place and setting the fastest time around the track for my group. I was sure glad it was over on Sunday though. I was dead tired and still feel like I ran a marathon! It was a 2 day event and was there for almost 10 hours on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, I race 1/8 scale radio controlled electric buggies. They are very fast, weigh about 6 pounds, and reach speeds upwards of 45 miles per hour down the straights.

I'm sorry to hear that you guys have not been seeing any progress. I still believe that you guys need to push your doctors to try and get to the bottom of the problem at hand. My Family Doctor said I might be feeling the way I do because I might be depressed but my specialist said that I feel the way I do because I'm still a bit swollen. He said no need for depression medication. Just rest still.

My parents have gone back home now that my dad is doing getter after his stroke. My kids miss them and so do I but its nice to have the house to our self's again.

Please keep pushing forward, dont give up and tell your doctors you want results!

Yes, it seems like its taking for ever for me to get back to some what of a "normal" state. The hardest part is the lack of calories i'm taking in now and I think this has a huge affect on how we heal after a major surgery as this one.

I started to do sit ups 1/2 way. My abdomen cramps up at times especially when leaning over as to wash my hands over the sink or brush my teeth.

I'm glad to be off of the Prolisec too. My Specialist told me how to ween my self off and I did so and its been 3 days with out it and I feel no different than when I was taking it.
