Thanksgiving

Bill that's a really bad thing for you to be with out insurance. I know those prescriptions really add up with out insurance. I have some expensive ones myself. I hope you get that all figured out so Michelle doesn't have to go with out her meds. I have to go over to HR today after lunch to get paper work all set for flex spending account and papers for my surgery on the 28th. I'm trying not to think about the surgery. Makes me nervous to think about my right hand that I depend so much on being out of commission. I can't believe your back is acting up now too. It's always something. I have some catch in my back and almost couldn't straighten up this morning. I see the chiropractor tonight so hope he can fix it. I'm glad your work has been understanding and let you have off. Sorry about your dad Bill, but it does get easier doesn't it as the years go by. I miss my friend this year but just keep thinking of how much he loved Christmas and he would not be happy with me if I sat around and cryed. I am just so thankful to be around this year myself.

Hi Anne, I think it is pretty cool to be on page 2. Get excited about the little things. That's what makes life fun. I work full time at a senior center where seniors go to do fun activities during the day. I like my job most of the time. My boss makes me really mad at times like today and yesterday. I've been standing my ground though and not letting her just push me around. I wish I went in at 9 instead of 8am. It would help my sleep pattern a whole lot. We got some snow and ice today and I almost slammed into the back of a car and was so freaked out I started to cry. The thought of an accident of any kind scares me after my moped accident. I don't want to injure any one else or get injured myself with my big van it would probably be the other guy that gets hurt. Well I need to get to bed. I'll have to tell you about my chat with my daughter in law. Take care and have a great night. Barb

Bill, so sorry to hear that. God must have something better out there for you. Any way that is the way I look at things. It doesn't sound like they were the best to work for any way. I was asked today at work if this surgery with my had was it for a while and I said I can't promise any thing. I've never said any thing to her about the bladder surgery that my gynecologist wants to do. I am putting it off for now. Things seem to be a bit better with that. I talked to the hand doctors assistant today and he said no work for 3 weeks because it is my dominant hand. I told him the doctor had said I could go back on the 6th and I couldn't miss that much work. He said he'd be willing to let me go back 4 hours a day because he didn't want me to over do it and go back wards. I was pretty ticked about it because I didn't want to deal with my boss and I didn't want use up that much sick leave. I started thinking about it and he is the one who had to listen to me about how much my hand hurt the last time and scolded me for over doing it(which I know I did) so it does make sense. I talked to my boss and we worked it out and I am going to try to have as many volunteers to help out as possible so I don't have to write and my hubby has even volunteered. So if I can get enough volunteers to help out I maybe able to come back full time earlier if I can talk my doctor's assistant into doing the paper work for it as long as i don't have to do all the writing I would normally do. I don't want to do any thing to mess this up. I'm going to start making an effort to use my left hand as much as possible. I will just be glad to have it done and over with. I'm not ready for the snow either Bill. I cringed when they said 4-6 inches for us next Wednesday. We got kind of spoiled with the warmer temps. I don't tolerate the cold as well as I used to. I think part of it is the plavix I take and old age setting in. I would love to have the winter temps my son has in North Carolina on the coast. I think it has only snowed once since he moved there. Well I am off to bed. Busy weekend a head for me. Barb

Well, it's a balmy 40 degrees here today in GA. They kept saying snow today, but the sky was clear with lots of sunshine. :(
I love snow, but it hardly ever snows around here.

I was doing a shopping trip or two the last few days so sorry I missed you all here.

I live in South Dakota Barb wher teh wind sure does know how to blow !

We have had a great year so far, been warmer and not much snow. The waether folks are saying it might not be too bad this year . That thrills me ! Last year was one of the worst on record...snow storm after snow storm. Nearly did me in at work shoveling. We had three blizzards in one last year!!!

I am originally from Iowa Barb! Lived in many towns there. We always had to rent , Mom and Dad nevr had enough money to buy a house so when the rentals would sell off we would go to find another rental ! My porr Mom had to move so much but there were lots of kids in our family to help !! I also, small world Barb !! trained to be a flight attendant in Appleton Wisconsin !! I works for Air Wisconsin for Two years out of Denver.

I am cleaning all the cupboards in my kitchen today, can you imagine !!!?? I need to oranize and I just cant stand that mumbo jumbo mess anymore !!!

Hey Anne,

My sister's lived in ND for years and years, my son went to NDSU and my daughter-in-law is from Bismarck so I know the open prairie drive well.  The white outs on our MN freeways in the open country are very dangerous.  I know what your talking about.

Bill, you just had to toss in that tid-bit about the weather report.............  LOL

Just wondering how everyone is doing with the storm? The rain finally changed back to snow for us, but cut down our total inches considerably. Now we have to deal with more ice though. I'd much rather have the snow. All the rain made it about impossible to shovel and I don't have the tractor ready yet, so the drive is going to be a driven on packed one this time around. Glad I left the first snow on Michelle's car since we got all the rain and ice afterwards.
It's still 32 degrees here. No wind yet either. The weathermen were way off again for us.

Barb, got to watch what we eat now remember. It can be quite painful when we slip. Listen to me..... I had chocolate and pepperoni pizza tonight. Probably why I had to eat som antacids earlier and is getting me again right now.

Joy, I am going to let you get away with bragging about the 71 degree temp...................that is because you are having surgery.  :) Here is a picture of our driveway and my hubby around noon today in our driveway.

The storm dumped anywhere from 3 - 16 inches of snow in the state depending where you live and the winds howled.

I have to agree with Joy, that pic of yours is just beautiful. I was telling my tenants today when I got done shoveling that when I retire and am sitting infront of the window

with a big mug of coffee in my hand and watching the snow fall outside then yes, I will find it even more beautiful then i do today......I shoveled for about 4 hours today with a brak or two to warm up.

Your land looks just gorgeous !! Do you live in the country ?

Hi Y'all-
I'm with Kitt, Joy. I'll let you slide this time because of the upcoming surgery.....But not twice LOL! I wish 2013 would hurry up and get here so I can move back to Virginia. It's still snowing here and windy too. It's supposed to be -1 for a low tonight and I have to be at the church for the visitation at 8am. BRRRRRRR!
I am not going to get any sleep tonight.

Well the wind chills is - 22 degrees below zero with the actual temp -1.



Joy, you having house guests who will be glad to help you our while you recover. We just need someplace to thaw out and as long as you may need help I thought, why no?



Glad you all enjoyed the pictures of the snow...........we have many of them but I always have to get out my camera when we have a big storm. Barb, you were hit worse then we were.
