Thanksgiving

Joy we can only dream of 40 in Wisconsin at this point. It was so cold after all the snow got dumped on us that the side streets are a lumpy mess because they couldn't get it to melt even with salt. We are supposed to get another inch tonight and 1-2 inches tomorrow night. Like we really needed any more. It got up into the 20's today. I hate the cold though and even 20's is too cold for me. Tomorrow is supposed to be 30 so I may venture out on my x country skis. Might as well make the best of it. I saw the doc this am about my rash and he just said dermatitis or exema and keep using the prescription cream even though it is out dated as of last month. He said to put the cream on before bed and wrap with plastic wrap to keep in moisture and help skin absorb the medication. I just want the itching to go away. I'm working on straightening up the house today as I am having a birthday party tomorrow. I'll be 47 tomorrow. I got the prettiest cake from the bakery and it's chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Kitt & Bill I wouldn't suggest any alchohal as I drank two wine coolers and ate chocolate Thursday night at our city party and my tummy did not feel well at all. My daughter an I had fun playing video games though and then we hung around while one of the guys went to pick up their basset hounds from the baby sitter. Our IT guys put on a party every year for city workers since we don't have a party any more. They have the coolest house with the coolest video games. I don't normally play them but they had ms. packman, packman and space invaders among many others. Those were my favorites as a teenager and young adult. I sure felt my age after staying up that late and eating and drinking all the stuff that does not agree with my tummy. I told my husband I'm not a young chick any more and can't be staying up that late and then going to work. I came home from work Friday and crashed in my chair the rest of the evening until I had to go to my night job. A nap sounds like a good idea right now.

Anne I hope you are recovering from all the shoveling. Snow is pretty until you have to go out and take care of it. I think your idea sounds good about watching from the window. Well I am off to take a nap so I am some what a wake for my birthday party tomorrow. Talk to you all later. Barb

Hi Anne, I've been busy with working and parties , medical issues. I had my 47 b-day Sunday. Woohoo I made it another year! I love my job working at the senior center. It's a bit different from a nursing home though as they come for the day and are able to take care of themselves. We had our Christmas party today and it was a lot of work but so much fun too. I have so much stuff to do before I am off for my surgery. Well time to get to bed. Take care and I'll talk to you later. Barb

Hi Anne, I'm on my lunch right now. Too cold to go out any where so just decided to stay in and catch up with all of you. My surgery is on December 28th at 7:30am. I have to be there at 6:30am. I'm still trying not to think about it. The hospital called this morning and got all my information since I haven't been to that one yet it took a while. I'll leave my house around 5am. The hospital told me that the anesthesiologist might want to see me before I have my surgery for an appointment because of the heart and lung issues I have. She said they are very cautious. I told her it would have to be the day I go down for my other 2 appointments as I can't get off of work again and drive all the way down there. I am happy that my rash is almost gone on my leg. The seran wrap around my leg at night to help the medication soak in really works well. The doc told me it was exema and wasn't sure what caused it. I still think it is from the laundry soap. He said it would be all over then and I didn't bother to argue and tell him that I am always the exception to the rule. How are you doing? Are you ready for Christmas yet? I'm not yet.

Kitt, so glad you had fun on your trip. You'll get all caught up on the Christmas stuff I'm sure. Well have to get back to work here soon.
