I'm sorry about your MIL, sorrier about your husband, sorriest for you!! about all I can do is pray for you, all of you in your family and the people here...I'm too much of a basket case to participate..sorry...something like why is it so hot in here and what am I doing in this handbasket????

Denise,
My grandmother's skin was like that. The slightest thing could tear her skin. My mother bruises very easy. One doctor told her she'd bruise if he just look at her wrong. Her arms are always covered in bruises because she's always running into the door frames and such.

Howdy ~ ~ ~

My Mother-in-law went home yesterday and later this week we will see a cardiologist.  She has a badly used up heart, but so full of love yet.  She is 85 and my Father-in-law is 90. 

Hubby's ankle still just as swollen so he has been staying home and off the foot as much as possible.

My niece was here for just the day yesterday and it was good to see her.

Granddaughter's Birthday today and she is awesome.

From reading all it does sound like we keep on rolling with the punches.  I will leave you with this thought for today:

Denise, how exciting a baby shower it sounds wonderful. I didn't get to do them for my daughter in laws. Too far away. Do they know what it is yet? That baby is going to change your life forever.

Denise we have all of the acutuL poo cleaned up but we. Now we are sanitizing everyhing and sorting through deciding what to keep and what to get rid of as we have too much stuff. Well time for this old lady to go to bed.

It sounds like you are going to have a great time with the shower and have everything in hand. You'll look at things differently than when your kids were young. It's so much more fun the second time around. Your going to make a great grandma with all your experience. We'll be here to help you out though. Lol. You'll do great!

I think we may have to tear out the studs and drywall downstairs. It smells really moldy. It would be nice to have the basement bigger so we could actualy use that space. Well time to go get ready for bed. Barb

Hey All,

Today was my last test - lab draw for clotting factors.  6 tubes of my blood they took.  I thought I was in a Twilight movie.     No more tests for me, I will live with the fluke of having a TIA and just take my 81 mgs of ASA.

Janice my dear,  what do you have in that basket? Did I see the word case in your post - perhaps a case of Gatorade or some other kind of spirits ?

I am so sorry about the water problems you have had at your home.  I know what a mess it can be trying to clean up and dry out everything that got damaged.   Stay away from any mold and take care of you.

Joy,  My hubby saw the Dr. again today and now he has a cam walker which has given him back his mobility.  His Dr. told him he really messed up his foot and ankle - dah,  I knew that.  Hee Hee.

My mother-in-law seems to be doing ok but I am anxious to hear the Cardiologists take on her condition when we go uptown on Friday.

Hi all-
Decided to get into the VA system and see what they can do to help out. Might be able to at least save on meds.
I am also going to see if I can get an appt with the barretts specialist my surgeon recommended. I did go to this GI a couple times when they were figuring out what was wrong with my first wrap. He also did an EGD about 2 weeks out from surgery to try and see if they could fine the holes.
I am extremely tired tonight for some reason, so I am off to bed.

We are on a mini shut down while everyone gets some rest in. We start practice again next week and probably will be in a tourney mid September.

Kitt, I was talking about the saying "going to hell in a hand basket", hence the reference to hot. I'm still fighting against unknowns; Doctors, specialists, tests and no answers; we head back to Cleveland on Monday and they're now talking to Michigan pathologists, Lansing Dr.s' and what not..oh yeah, Mayo too...oh yeah, going through the clotting and b & t cell whatnots.

Bill, I hope you can get some financial relief through VA; we have Tricare as secondary, I'm so thankful.

Joy, I don't know what to tell you about your Mom; I know what they told me and it seems all so counterintuitive and confusing..I used to think I knew stuff, now I KNOW I know nothing!

Denise, yup that's what the doctor's find with me too. I always tell them I am never the norm so don't expect what you normal course of things with me. I had that conversation with the anethesiologist yesterday. He wants to give me versad when he does the nerve block in my neck for my shoulder and then the nerve block shot in the back of my knee for my foot. So guess I will be fully awake for that. They need you kind of awake any way to tell them if they are too close to the nerve. Yahoo I already know what that was like from when my doc got too close to the nerve in my hand when giving me a shot. It was such a searing pain that I yanked my arm away needle and all. The doctor yesterday didn't instill any confidence in me when he was asking me questions about meds I had never taken and it turned out it wasn't even my chart. That scared my hubby too! Oh well at least I know the doctor doing the surgery is really good and so is his assistant. Well I am currently on Cobra for this month for health and dental. My current employer is going to pay that and then I have to write them a check for the cost of what their insurance will cost us starting next month. So at least that is all figured out. One less thing on my mind. I have to call Monday to find out if I have to stay over night after the surgery as my senior friend I was talking with today about her shoulder surgery has to stay 3 nights. It's really weird how all my health issues help me stay in tune with the people I work with because I understand what they are going through. My other conversation today with one of the seniors was about being incontinent and having stents in our hearts. It always helps to talk to some one who is or has gone through what you have with your health. That's what is so great about this site.
I hope all goes well with the shower and you get your allergies under control.

Joy, I can't cement the drain because if the sump pump ever goes out the basement would completely fill with water and I have heard stories from friends about that. We are trying to figure out how to get the plug in there that lets water go down and has a ball that closes when things try to come up. We haven't found one that fits though. We are working on having only the appliances on the floor and my exercise equipment and pool table then we could just hose it down. As for the walls I think they just need to go. Now I need to talk my daughter into that reality so she will do it.
Too bad my pain pump won't last longer than the 3-4days. Sorry you'll have to get your own. I don't even want to think of when it wears off. I do stretches for my back and hips that the therapist gave me. Too bad there isn't any that help with the knees as mine catch after I walk so far. That is not fun I can't imagine my hip doing that. I'll send some prayers up for you and your mom.

Janice, I'll keep praying for you that the right doctor comes your way and that they can help you.

Bill that's nice that you get a break. Hope you enjoy it. Have you found out any thing more about what is going on with your stomach?

Kitt, hope your hubby and mother in law are doing ok. Have you found any thing out yet about your blood tests? It's so frustrating when they can't figure out what's going on with your health.
P.S. I'm not a foot ball fan. So don't mind if you guys have farve. Lol. Well have to scoot to work for the night. Am praying for no more rain as we got drenched today. Barb

My back usually hurts more on rainy days. Arthritis and all...:(
We've been having alot of rain lately off and on. I really need to talk with my doctor about the pain, but I know they'll say lose weight, take pain meds, apply heat, and rest.
I can do three of them, but the weight loss is so much harder for me. :((
My back hurts more when I exercise. The only time I lost a significant amount of weight was after my surgery (20lbs) and I was starving all the time. :S
I guess I need to go back to that tight restriction again. I don't eat much now, really.

Denise, Baby showers are alot of fun. I used to help my church prepare for them. I used to do a fun game of pinning a small cloth diaper on everybody's shirt. One of the diapers were "dirty". At the end of the party they'd check the diapers. Whoever got the "dirty" diaper got a door prize.

To All,  I am having a low day as my mother-in-law's trip to the Cardiologist was as I suspected.  She has a bad Mitral Valve and there is nothing they can offer her except another medication.  She is to weak, frail and old to think of doing any open heart surgery.

The tough part is she does not understand what is going on and she said to my sister-in-law and me she just wants to "live with LeRoy (her husband) as he is such a holy man and she loves him."  The Dr. spoke with her about resuscitation should her Mitral Valve fail completely. She also told us she would like to live for 5 more years.  I hope she does as she has been a wonderful MIL and I care for her as a second Mother.

I promise to catch up with all tomorrow.  For today I am just going to stay in the moment.
