I have gastroparesis and it sounds like the symptons I had that drove me to the doctor. Gastroparesis is called "lazy stomach", for it can take 2,3, 4, or even 5 times longer for a meal to empty out of the stomach into the small intestines. and high fiber can lay on the stomach and form a bezoar, so high fiber is a no-no for this stomach problem. A bezoar is similar to a cats hairball, except that it is made up of bits and pieces of medications not fully digested, and fibrous foods, so one must eat very low fiber foods, and liquid medications. Earthromycin or Reglan is the chosen medications for this stomach ailment, although reglan can have some dire side effects. Your daughter should have a motility test to determine how rapid or slow her stomach empties. Also if she would have this, she would see a dietician to show what foods can be/or not be eaten. During bad bouts one is advised to use ensure liquid diet for a few days. There is a lot more information about
this desease, but first things first, ask her Doctor to run this test.
