Really bad pain

Ok so I have been on this site before and it has really helped so hopefully I can get some input. I have been having a really bad pain in my throat for the past 4 days when I swallow, not the normal cold/sore throat pain. It feels like something is stuck there. Today, this pain in my throat is now tied into a pain about 4 inches lower in my back every time I swallow. SO I get the initial pain in my throat and as the food or whatever goes down my "pipe", I get severe back pain. I have also had some episods of minor throwup for no reason at all, also belching. My dr called me today but I missed the call and have to wait until tomorrow. I was thinking a couple of things: ulcers in my pipe, acid reflux flareup, or something more major like an ulcer in the back of my stomach or even gall bladder. Up until this afternoon my BM's have bee normal, tonight I have minor D. The only thing I noticed is the color is not as brown, I associated this with a new vitamin pack I have bee taking that is a "power pack" of 5 vitamins per day.

ANy help would be appreciated.

Let me add some new info I jsut found out. I stuck a small light in my mouth to see if I could see anything and I see alot of white areas in the way back of my mouth that look like an ulcer or something. Having never had strep throat, could this be what I have or could it jsut be some ulcers of some type.

White spots could be thrush or it could be some kind of infection. My daughter once had some horrible spots and she could hardly talk. You should see the doctor, that's my advice. Good luck.

You may be getting spasms when you swallow. I can tell you first hand that it is very painful. I just got done with a manometry, endoscopy, and 24hr PH monitor, and my throat spasmed terribly. It's still spasming, but less strongly. It'll take some time for it to heal.

You may have some injury to your esophagus (probably reflux related?) and could very well be experiencing spasms.

Definitely sounds like a trip to the M.D. is in order for you! You don't want to have to deal with that pain any longer than you have to! Ouch!! I was going to say that it's possibly strept throat, but the way that you describe that the pain moves on down your throat as you swallow makes it less likely in my thoughts...but something's obviously going on that's out of the ordinary.

Hope you're able to find out something tomorrow! Let us know what it is!

Possible strep or tonsilitis if you have your tonsils ?  Check your temperature and I agree, a trip to the Doctors is in order.

Let us know what your Doctor feels is wrong ?

Ok here goes. Doc said I do not have ulcers or anything in the back of my mouth and it is normal.  No strep either. He gave me the cocktail and I had no pain. He feels it is the reflux causing this and gave me prescription prilosec. Take for a week and if it does not get better, he wants me to get scoped.
