any one on pantoprazole

has anyone been on pantoprazole .just gone on them to day after coming off nexium

yes mate nexium was making me bad i think it was giving me chest pains and making me feel sick .i was on 40mg .

im now on pantoprazole 40mg no side effects yet chest pains gone and sickness. but i do have my sore throat back . i think it must be acid . does this lump in the throat feeling ever go mate

Hey pigeonman, I too have tried Nexium 40mg 2x a day, I was on that for months and finally I went anss saw a new doctor nd he too suffered from Acid Reflux and tried Nexium 40mg and it didn't work for him so he suggested that I try Pantoprazole 40mg 2x a day and also domperidone 10mg 4 x a day(before each meal and before bed) and it seems to be working for me. I hate to jinx myself lol. I had been suffering from acid reflux, waking up choking on bile and bad chest pains what felt like all day every day. I feel much better lately and I have been taking pantoprozole 40mg 2x a day for 4months along with the donperidone. Aparentley when Nexium works for some people it works great, but the other people it just doesn't do anything for them.
I just had an ultrasound done, found nothing, had a barium swallow, found nothing and just last Wednesday I had a endoscopy done and aparentley it was mildly irritated around my stomach and a very small area of irritation at the beginning of the esophagus(spelling) to the stomach. The doctor took 3 biopsies and I will get the results back around Feb 16/11. Hopefully the problem will arise as I am tired of taking pills every day all day. :(

Hi, Pigeonman,ive tried all PPIs and find that it can take 4 to 6 weeks for them to get you settled though, thats just my opinion.I Felt really low on Nexium,a kind of depression,kept going to Doctors complaining of fatigue,ringing in the ears and generally unwell.Doctors told me that it wouldnt be the Nexium,so i just stopped taking them and within a week felt back to my self,this lasted 3 months then the reflux came back so it was back to drugs again.I was put on H2 blockers 900mg of ranitadine and within 3 months ended up with Folate and B12 deficiency,total nightmare!Hope the Pantoprazole get you sorted out,just give it a bit of time and hopefully no side effects! does any one ever feel sick when they take their meds . i started on pantoprazole last Friday . had one this morn and it felt like it was to strong .i felt sick and a vile taste in my mouth .also does exercise make it worse
