Well its 423am in the uk and im am sitting here in pain!!  Not sure if this is being caused by my gallbladder or my ibs, but god i just feel like giving up on life!!

Ive pain under both ribs, small bit in my stomach and on my right shoulder blade....have taken my usual medication that normally sorts things out but nothing is working...Am just soo tired, think i had about 2 hours this evening before i was woken up with the pain just below my ribs.

I really hope this pain goes away, as i just cant take it anymore and certainly do not want this pain for life, it just isnt worth it

Im really feeling sorry for myself at the moment, im due to go on holiday to europe in 12 days time, the longer this goes on the closer i am saying i cant go to my poor suffering girlfriend.

I hate my life right now

I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering so much with (what sounds to me like) gallbladder attacks. Fill me in. Have you had any procedures, test, etc. for your symptoms?

What you are describing sounds more like gallbladder than anything. My husband struggles with his at times, and wakes up in the middle of the night with it. They're often hard to pin down. His tests all come out normal, but he still has the problem.

I'll be interested in hearing what you've done so far, and what docs have said.
I hope you feel better, and can enjoy your vacation!

Hi Denise,

Ive had an ultrasound which showed around 8 gallstones in the bladder, have had all my bloods done which show no stones stuck in the ducts.

Am feeling like I did around two years ago, waking up feeling really warm especially across my midrift, slight stomach pain....with the added pain under both left and right ribs with the occasional pain on my right shoulder blade.  Generally feeling rough sleepy, not 100%

Am taking diclofenac for the pain im having the only downside its giving me terrible diarrhea.

Im hoping i am going to be well enough to travel but its not looking very good at the moment :(

Well have just been released from hospital after being admitted on saturday night.

I was admitted and after tests they found i had cholecystitis, so am now waiting to have my gallbladder out.

The pain was horrendous :-( but after 4 days im feeling much better.

Sorry to hear about your troubles..I don't know how they function in the UK but around here if you are admitted with cholecystitis they'd schedule you for surgery right away..do you have a date? Also try not to eat anything fatty or greasy in the mean time. I tell people this whether they want to believe me or not but fennel helped ease the attacks for me, it works as an antispasmatic for the gallbladder. Either chew the seeds or boil to make a tea.

I'm glad they've gotten to the bottom of your problem. I hope you get that surgery quickly so you can feel better. How long will you have to wait?
As bittersweet so wisely suggested, be very careful of your diet until the surgery!

Hi all,

Have been given meds to let the inflamation go down, they said around 6 weeks for the surgery.

Im not in any pain now, but the tablets that I am taking are really really putting me off food, i only have to smell certain foods and im almost sick :s

The major downside is that I have to miss my holiday on friday now as im just not feeling up to it :-(

Thread caught my attention and your first post sounded just how i fill sometimes, been up all night in pain that no matter what i do or take just wont go away, ok its been a while since ive been there and the meds are working, but i never want to go back to that pain ever again. Im sorry to hear you have to miss your holiday, but im happy for you that you are getting to the bottom of the problem. Get yourself sorted and healthy and there will always be the option for another time to go.

A friend of mine had to have his galbladder removed recently, took about 3 months from been diagnosed till the opp. UK nhs
