Reflux/Bravo/eosinophilic esophagitis

Currently have Bravo...After years of feeling like my food is stuck in my throat I finally received a diagnosis that explains it, and is very often confused with REFLUX. IT IS CALLED eosinophilic esophagitis!!!
Does your throat often feel like its going to close up?
In 2008 they found esophagil rings and did balloon dialation. They said it was the cause of reflux, but 2 days ago (2011) I had endoscopy that showed no rings but they took a biopsy and found that I have eosinophilic esophagitis. They also installed the Bravo capsule to see if it is reflux related, which now they don't think it is. Now I have this uncomfortable capsule in my esophagus...I want it out now, It makes me feel panicked!
PLEASE tell me out there how many days did it take for the Bravo capsule to fall off?

I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable with the Bravo. You're not alone. Others who have posted here have been extremely frustrated and uncomfortable while it stayed attached.

While I never had the Bravo, but rather had the wired PH probe, I've read many, many posts here describing the experience.

It appears that the length of stay is very individual. You'll want it to stay in at least two days, so you have a chance to collect the important information that your doctors are looking for.

Once you've had it in long enough to provide the data that is required, some people find that they can help it off by eating things like bread...that drag on it and make it more likely to come loose.

One person here had it taken out after several days, although was warned that it could create a painful ulcer if pulled off too soon. As I said, some people are never bothered by the capsule, while others find it unbearable.

I'm sure that others will be by to share their own experiences with the Bravo capsule/PH test.

I had it removed after 7 days as it was causing me continous chest pains, and i could not eat properly, had lost 3-5 pounds in 7 days. But mine was rare and unsual experience, and i am sure u would be fine.
