Ive been in constant pain still from the gerd. Been getting alot of throat pain on the left side, breathing still sucks, anxiety has gotten worse. Had a bad gerd/anxiety attack last nite and everyone i tried to talk to blew me off. I cant get any support from anybody in my life with my battle against this disease and my other problems. They just dont want to hear about my problems, dont care or dont believe me. I cant deal with this alone, im scared. Please help.

You're not alone in this. I know exactly how you feel. I have been battling this for over 5 years and it was only this year that I've made any headway on what is wrong with me. Unfortunately, all my research has caused me to have more anxiety because I'm trying to self diagnose myself and I think I'm creating more symptoms in my mind as a result. My pains are valid. I'm not imagining them. I've been to my primary care physician, a gastroenterologist, and a cardiologist several times in the last 6-9 months trying to get this figured out. Keep posting and reading. Hopefully you will find some consoling information and others who can relate to your situation.

I can recommend a great book that helped me with my anxiety.

It is called, The Feeling Good Handbook," by, David Burns, M.D.

He has a updated version but this book really helped me with my anxiety, he approaches it with cognitive theraphy.....

Highly reccommend it.

Thanks guys. Havent been feeling good at all. Today has really sucked. Got every symptom in the book at once plus a headache, toothache and breathing issues. Just no support and it sucks so bad. Makes dealing with this even harder.

i know what you mean about needing support and people who just dont what to hear about what we are going thru

ive reached the point of telling most, not to ask me how im doing, and if they do, ive warned them from this point forward i will lie and say "great". since when ever i answer honestly they tell me how i should not be feeling the way i do.... or that im failing to follow their prescriptions

so.....

i come here for support or i only talk with others who have similar experiences cause hey can "relate"

im sorry you are in so much pain, lets face it life is not always kind and it is rarely fair

ive had some set backs lately and im not nearly as optimistic about my future as i was a month ago...hard times

thanks. Im trying to hang in there. I hate when family or friends ask how are you, how do think i am? And when i start talking about it, they change the subject like its not important or im making it up. I hate it. Sorry, im in pain rite now. Going to get off for now.

Hurtandscared, I'm sure your family and friends do care. They change the subject because they haven't the experience to help; this is something lacking in THEM, and is not a reflection on you.

Is there any local support group you could join?

Hope things improve for you soon.

I am sorry but you are both running identical threads in other forums.......duplicate posts as well. HW has rules and guidelines for all users and I kindly ask you to read these rules. 17. No duplicate posts. 

hurtandscared, we have been posting many wonderful responses to you in the anxiety forum re this very problem and also your problems with your family. ( your aunts and cousins)  I hope you have read our words to you. You have been posting with us in A & P since May.  We enjoy having you in the forum and your peers in A & P are there to support you.
