I was wondering how I would go about
getting it done. Since insurance doesn't cover it, do I still need the tests done? Or can I just have an endoscopy done by someone else and bring him the papers?? Thanks

I would suggest that you call his office and talk to him about
how to proceed.
Good Luck,
Kitt

I had the stretta done in may and yes you still have to qualify for it. Your hiatal hernia must be smaller than 2cm and you need to have a normal motility test. The motility test is not very fun but it's over in 30 minutes. I'm 3 months post stretta and have not seen any improvements however I was unable to take pip during the healing process which may have messed it up. I was an ideal candidate but dr. Noar said it can take up to 1 year for the full results. I may not be able to wait that long since my asthma is getting unmanageable. I have a stretta post of the recovery and such. Pretty much the procedure is no big deal at all, but it did mAke my reflux worse for a while and now it's like it always was but I'm still just 3 months deep. Hope this helped.

Oh yes you also have to have an egg but dr. NoAr can do thAt before the procedure. An egg is like what they do for your heart when you run on a treadmill. They just put those things (sorry I'm not medically savvy) on your stomach, you drink a glass of water and it records your stomachs emptying ability. Insurance does cover that.
