i agree...if,,,, if, a person has an intact functioning les, small or no hiatal hernia,, and the problem is primarily transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations...(t LES Rs)
we know that baclofen, and i suspect a number of other gaba agonists (which have been known to have anti anxiety and nerve calming effects) can decrease T les Rs.
i "discovered" an over the counter gaba agonist that i found was effective in decreasing tlesr but it is habituating, that is, it has a high potential for addiction, so ive not touted this substance
i will say that there is research evidence that canabinoid receptors may decrease tlesr, and in seattle, GERD is considered a valid reason to request medical marijuana! (no ive not tried this yet for suppressing reflux...but i might)
i presented that evidence here on a thread about 2 weeks ago
so yes... a would think that if one could use meditation, relaxation, exercise, calming substances, or any balanced combination of the above...one could substantially mitigate if not cure LPR
