My throat still hurts from the esophageal dilation. I am nauseated and keep burping. I also have trouble eating and drinking.

I got my operative report. It says I have "a ring identified at the GE junction suggestive of Schatzki's ring B." Could these be causing any of my symptoms?

I'm having trouble finding a doctor. I don't have insurance.

I don't know anything about the Schatzki's ring B but I did read something on it here:

As for post pain re esophageal dilation, I've had it done twice and each time my chest was sore, so was my throat. It passed after a few days.

Hang in there and keep knocking on the doctor doors.

It's a shame but it's a fact of life, the love of money is the root of all evil.

I have a schatzki's ring, but it was never bad enough to need dilation.
It can cause some restriction problems.

Thank you for the link.

I went to the ER today for upper stomach pain and nausea. They gave me medicine which didn't help. They said I was dehydrated (it hurts to drink and eat). They sent me home and said to follow up with the clinic. The clinic doesn't have any appointments available.

I'm still in a lot of pain. The ER doctor didn't give me any prescription pain medicine.

The GI who performed the scope doesn't want to see me. He told me to go to the clinic.

Do you think you can handle something that coats your throat like malox?

I don't like the taste of maalox.

For those who had pain after esophageal dilation/upper endoscopy, did you get any pain meds? The doctors won't give me any. Or, what did you do for the pain?
