Hi Cindy,The first thing that comes to mind is that the B12 sitting on your wrap/in your throat (remember that things no longer just go into your stomach without effort) is irritating you. The foamy mucous is what the esophagus creates to soothe irritation. Is there a reason you have to take it at night? I think it would be wise to follow the pill with a glass of water to make sure it gets through your wrap.
You are right that sometimes a little air is released by the wrap, and it's enough to send whatever liquid is sitting at the wrap site up your esophagus. That has happened to me--more during the healing phase during the first year, but sometimes even now. I also get liquid sitting on top of my wrap sometimes, and if I bend over, whatever is there comes up. It's like reflux but not a bit acidic.
I would guess the sore throat is not from the hot tea, unless you're drinking it when it's scalding.
My best guess is that the B-12 sitting in your esophagus all night is your problem.
Try taking it earlier, or at least being sure to wash it down with a glass of water before going to sleep.
Is my theory correct? I don't know. That's what I would think is happening, though.
Hope you're having a great day!
Denise
Oh yes...vacations are great. Hopefully you'll get one soon!
