Welcome to Healing Well.
There is a very good post op recovery blog by dencha (Denise). She posted her day to day recovery.
Can you remember what you were eating when the symptoms worsened? Sometimes foods can trigger worse symptoms during recovery. If the wrap gets irritated the best thing is what you have done, go back to an easy diet. though everyone recovers at their own pace there are some "milestone" in recovery that are very similar for most everyone.
I am very close to you in my 2nd redo recovery from an open nissen. I am at about 7 weeks out. I am able to eat almost anything I want, but I have done this recovery 2 times before and know what to expect. The best advice is to take small bites and chew VERY well, to a liquid if you can. Please stay away from soft bread and solid meats for a while longer. If you do try them please be sure to chew them very well. If you get something stuck remember to relax and take drinks of water or whatever you have to push it through the wrap.
also are you having any nausea issues? I recommend having a prescription for an anti nausea med and keep it with you at all times. Most people can't vomit after this surgery and dry heaving not only hurts, but can do damage to the wrap.
Please tell us what your diet is right now so we can give you better advice as too the problems you are having. Also remember that your incisions will heal way before the inside is healed. It takes anywhere from 6 months to a year or so for the inside to heal and your body to adjust to it's new configuration.
Take care,
Bill
