I haven't seen you here before, so to err on the side of caution, Welcome to HealingWell :)
I haven't had the Nissen, but I think the decision of whether or not to have the surgery is solely your decision. However, I can tell you that Nexium does inhibit the absorption of calcium into the body, which can make you more prone to bone fractures over time. Also, there are other side effects reported by other members, such as benign stomach polyps. Here is a great article, which is posted by eHow, who got it from the Astra-Zeneca site (which no longer posts the side effects of their drugs online - fishy).
