Hi Psych58,I agree with Kitt, that your long bout with health issues will make you recovery longer and more difficult. The amount of vomiting you did is enough to throughly inflame your esophagus, and I suspect the gallbladder surgery is also playing a role here. Recovery from that alone can cause some big issues. In combination with a Nissen, there is no doubt that you're being doubly challenged.
You will definitely find plenty of people here who understand what you're going through. I truly think that with time the things your struggling with will resolve. I know that there are others who have had difficulty recovering from gallbladder surgery alone. When paired with a Nissen, it's going to take longer. There's no way around it.
You're just at the six month mark, in which a significant amount of healing has occurred. Still it takes a full year (and I have found even longer) for complete healing. I found improvements occuring even past the one year mark.
Surgeons never understand fully what recover is like unless they happen to have the surgery themselves. That's why a forum like this is great. I agree...others in your family, and friends, have no idea what you're dealing with. I'm glad you've joined the forum. I'm sure others will be by to add their comments and support.
Best wishes,
Denise
