So nothing new has changed really. I still have my symptoms although I've noticed an odd pattern, not sure if it's reflux or pots related but any advice would help. For 2-3 weeks I have no appetite, barely eat or drink, rarely have any reflux symptoms at all, feel awesome overall. The next 4ish weeks after that are awful. I'm starving, can't drink enough, have regurg all day long, can't lay down to sleep, nausea, bloated, feel horrible. I get the same effect if I ate saltines or if I ate pizza, doesn't matter. When I get the regurg it doesn't burn, once in a while I get a funny taste but otherwise I feel it coming up and then goes back down and throat clearing, bile reflux? As I'm typing this, my regurg is a constant. I see my GI next month to talk about and reschedule another nissen redo. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has this type of pattern....2 weeks fine, 4 weeks severely symptomatic, 2 weeks fine, etc. I'm still taking prilosec twice a day, zantac as needed, domperidone 3 times a day, along with anti nausea meds. It's very frustrating when I feel great for a few weeks and then one day I wake up and feel like I've hit a brick wall.

I was in a very similar pattern back in May through August. I only had a couple days of good, but did have a weird taste. It was sour or bitter, just weird. Then they found out my wrap was undone and my LES was wide open. I didn't have normal heartburn either. I felt it in my left shoulder only. Almost exactly like it felt right after surgery from the gas in my belly.

Hope they get you fixed up soon.

yes my symptoms seem to run in cycles or maybe it is seasons...not sure

towards the end of last summer i was doing fairly ok...not perfect but wining the battle most days

now im back into the multiple high up reflux episodes every day and...AND

this just awful nausea after eating

sorry about hitting those "brick walls"...me too

Bill if you remember back in Oct my GI did a scope and found my wrap is herniated, broken down, and twisted. So I'm guessing it's as wide as the grand canyon. I was NOT happy with my surgeon at all! At my post op appt I told him I had to reflux for the first week after surgery, after that they came back full force. I know it's normal to have some symptoms during recovery but I could tell when the swelling went down. Even after he did a few scopes I could tell my wrap was swollen, I had no symptoms except a light pressure when I would try to reflux but that only lasted a few days also. I've been trying desperately to find a link for my good or bad weeks so I can make the good last longer but no luck. I'm starting to wonder if my pots is related to this. I have next to no symptoms of pots on my good reflux weeks. Once a bad reflux week hits, pots is on overdrive also. I've been eating more crackers and bread hoping to soak up the acid.

I HATE the nausea!!! I haven't vomited so not sure if I can but sometimes I wish I would just to get all the acid out. There's many times I'm afraid to bend over because it's just sitting in the back of my throat. Ugh
